JPG cannot store transparency, so see-through areas are filled with this color.

    About this tool

Choose the format you need, drop in your images and download the converted files. Everything happens inside your browser, so it is fast and your pictures stay on your device.

    • PNG: lossless and supports transparency. Best for logos, screenshots and graphics with sharp edges.
    • JPG: small files that work everywhere. Best for photos. It has no transparency, so you can pick the background color for see-through areas.
    • WebP: a modern format that gives smaller files than JPG or PNG and supports transparency.

You can convert from PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, as long as your browser can open the file. Converting between lossy formats such as JPG and WebP loses a little quality each time, so keep your original files.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or shared, and the images disappear when you close the page.

How do I convert WebP to PNG or JPG?

Drop your WebP files here, choose PNG or JPG in "Convert to", and download the results. PNG keeps transparency, while JPG fills transparent areas with the background color you choose.

    Will converting reduce quality?

Converting to PNG is lossless. Converting to JPG or WebP uses the quality slider, so a higher value keeps more detail and gives a larger file. Re-converting an already compressed image can lower quality a little more.

Why is WebP unavailable in my browser?

Some browsers, mainly Safari, cannot create WebP files from a web page. In that case the WebP button is turned off. PNG and JPG conversion still work, and WebP files can still be opened and converted to other formats.

    What happens to animated GIFs?

Only the first frame of an animated GIF is converted, because PNG, JPG and WebP output from this tool is a single still image.

Is there a size or file limit?

You can convert up to 20 images at a time, each up to 25 MB. Very large images are scaled down automatically if your browser cannot process their full size.
